Day 11 - Proverbs 11

How often have we wondered why the wicked in the world prosper so effortlessly?

We have seen with our own eyes in our workplaces how the deceitful somehow gain merit over those who chose to walk in integrity and we wonder how can this be?

v3 “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

v5 “The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.”

This proverb tells us that wicked will be brought down by their own wickedness. The very tools they use to achieve their success will be their downfall. The evil desires that drove them will now entrap them.

What are we seeking “success” in?

Material wealth or the lifeline of righteousness?

v4 “Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

If you were drowning in the deep end of a pool, would you rather someone threw you a lifeline or throw your wallet/purse at you?

There will come a day when the wrath of God will be poured out in judgment.

What will you cling on to?
