Day 27 - Proverbs 27

v7 “A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, But to a hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”

Every bitter thing. How is that possible?

The word that comes to mind is this: Perspective.

To the poor and hungry, a mouldy loaf of bread is a feast! But to the well to do and well fed, that same loaf of bread holds no purpose other than to be disposed of.

In that same way I find that this translates to our spiritual lives as well.

Very often because of our pride and self-sufficient attitudes, the word becomes of no value to us;

But to the one who realizes that he is poor and hungry in spirit, the worst rebuke in the bible would still bring life to his soul!

That’s how we find ‘every bitter thing’ to be sweet. When we realize that we are poor and hungry in spirit indeed!

Have you eaten? ;)
